Growing up, my gift in the arts led me into a career in design where I joined the corporate world of creating. I loved it, but always felt something was missing.

In 2008, I joined 100 other cyclists on a nine-week, binational ride that changed the course of my life. We pedaled to raise awareness and funds to break the cycle of poverty, but somewhere along those miles, something shifted inside me. I began to understand the direction my heart had been trying to point me toward all along. That journey pushed me to make a bold, necessary U-turn—away from the corporate world and toward a life rooted in service and philanthropy.

I went back to school and came out not only with a BA in Human Rights and Human Diversity, but with a deeper sense of justice and an even stronger drive to contribute. From there, I found a way to weave together my love for design with my commitment to meaningful, community-focused work within the charitable sector.

Over the years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work alongside various international partners and NGOs gaining valuable skills in building strategic relationships with diverse community groups. In addition, I’ve garnered unique and extensive experience in design and marketing for print, web, and social media, as well as experience in communication, event coordination and fundraising.

I’ve always had a strong desire and passion for helping others. It fuels me to know that what I am doing is making a difference in a life, in a community and in the world.

A fundraising leader once shared with me a simple, but inspiring explanation of what fundraising really is and how fortunate we are to play a piece in the process. “Fundraising isn’t about asking for money – it’s about uniting people with their passion and desire to help others in a tangible way and the organizations that can make that impact with their support.” I have pressed that understanding upon my heart and am honoured to now be a part of that process here at Good Works. I’m excited to be a part of something bigger than myself.
