The AFP International Conference in Vancouver blew me away…

I co-presented ‘3D Philanthropy’ with my daughter (and colleague!) Rory – and the energy in the room was amazing. It started with the fact that the room was full for an 8 a.m. start!

It’s become evident to me that people are hungry go get back to the heart and soul reasons why we do this work in the first place. Fundraisers want to do everything possible to infect their donors with that same passion virus – and the 3D (head, heart & soul) tools we offered really struck a chord.

After our session, people from the next room told me that they could hear the laughter coming from our session. Too bad they couldn’t have seen all the tears when Rory shared her reasons for committing herself to the cause of fighting cancer.

An hour after our session ended, I got a text message telling me that the conference bookstore had sold out of its copies of 3D Philanthropy. It was a tremendously humbling – yet rewarding – moment.

Writing a book is a pretty ambitious undertaking. Words can’t express how much it means to know that people read it and find its value.

I LOVE my job!!!
